How to make an enema to a newborn

In the first weeks of life, the baby learns to everything new – to breathe, watch, digest food and much more. Not everything turns out well the first time and problems with the intestines are a common problem in newborns. Each mother should have an arsenal of funds and ways how to help the child’s body function normally. One of the safest, simple and effective ways to make the intestines work normally is an enema. It is very important to be able to correctly perform all these actions, so as not to accidentally harm a fragile children’s body.

In order to put a newborn enema, it is necessary to heat a small amount of water, prepare a sprint and a children’s cream or petroleum jelly.

The need to use the enema is determined by the mother herself. The frequency and nature of the bowel movements of each child are purely individual, much depends on the type and composition of feeding and the developmental features of the baby. In the case when the baby had no bowel movements for a couple of days, and he is anxious, in which case the newborn needs help.

Before the procedure, you need to boil the sprint. When choosing a device, special attention must be paid to the nose – it must be soft. The optimal volume is fifty milliliters. Before the procedure, you do not need to get out of the water in advance.

You can fill the sprint with several different compounds – this can be, not only as an ordinary boiled water, but a decoction of chamomile or water with the addition of vegetable oil (it enhances the laxative effect and helps the feces with minimal trauma of the intestinal walls). If the newborn has problems with gas formation, the decoction of chamomile is best suited. The fluid temperature should be in the range of thirty degrees.

The child should be laid on the left barrel or back, and the legs should be pressed to the tummy. Sprinting should not be hot, before use from it you need to squeeze out all the water and air. When the container is filled, its tip should be lubricated with cream or petroleum jelly, for softer administration. The nose should be introduced easily, to a depth of about a couple of centimeters. The liquid should be slowly displaced and, without unclenching the tool, slowly remove it from the butt of the child. For thirty seconds you need to clamp the buttocks of the newborn – and the matter has been done.
